The first quarter of 2021 is expected to cement the 50/50 merger of Peugeot S.A. (“Groupe PSA”) and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V. with the resultant group to operate under the new corporate name of Stellantis.
The name Stellantis comes from a derivation of the Latin verb “stello” meaning “to brighten with stars”. It is completely irrelevant to any form of recognition of the various brands involved and has been selected on the justification of the suggestion that Stellantis will convey the true spirit of optimism, energy and renewal driving this industry-changing merger.
The Stellantis name will be used exclusively at the Group level, as a Corporate brand. The names and the logos of the Stellantis Group’s constituent brands will remain unchanged.
The completion of the merger project is subject to customary closing conditions, including approval by both companies’ shareholders at their respective Extraordinary General Meetings and the satisfaction of antitrust and other regulatory requirements.
