Australia’s up and coming country music stars including energetic young performer Christie Lamb and award winners Benn Gunn and Jared Porter, are part of the exciting Deni Ute Muster 2014 line-up that will entertain patrons on Friday 3 and Saturday 4 October.
A sprinkling of local talent will also feature on the Deni Ute Muster Day Stage, including the popular Deni Uke Group, Deni Showcase and the return of the Bush Poets. Day Stage action kicks off at 10am on Friday, October 3, with an earlier start of 9am on Saturday, October 4.
It’s all part of this iconic two-day quintessentially Aussie rural festival that is jam-packed with music, entertainment and action. The Deni Ute Muster Day Stage has long been regarded as a unique opportunity for emerging talent, and this year is no exception.
The careers of Christie Lamb, Benn Gunn and Jared Porter are in their infancy, but already they are making a mark on the country music scene. Christie has been awarded ‘Most Impressive New Talent’ by Country Music Radio Australia, while Benn has picked up numerous ‘new talent’ awards and nominations, and Jared was 2014 Toyota Star Maker winner at the Tamworth Country Music Festival.
Although these young stars will prove popular on the Day Stage, they represent just a portion of the overall program. Other performers will include Jess Holland, Victoria Avenue, Deep Creek Band, Bec and The Big River Trio and the Viper Creek Band. Each of these are quality acts in their own right, with appearances at a range of Australia’s top festivals including Tamworth and Gympie.
Jess Holland is a two-time Toyota Star Maker finalist described as “a little bit different and a little edgy” who has been earning acclaim from fans and critics alike. Victoria Avenue is a Sydney girl group establishing themselves as one to watch with their outstanding vocals and a fresh take on country music. Deep Creek Band has just returned from a song writing and recording trip to Nashville, following the success of their 2013 debut CD ‘Cowboy on the Run’.
Bec and The Big River Trio play a mix of authentic rockabilly, old and new country with a hint of rock ‘n’ roll, and are described as a “foot tappin’, thigh slappin’, good time band that are not to be missed”.
Viper Creek Band is a contemporary, country rock band with a big sound and an energetic live show. Put them all together and you have two days of amazing entertainment on the Day Stage and the 2014 Deni Ute Muster.
They will precede the incredible night-time line-up which includes US country rock star Gary Allan, Aussie rock legend Jimmy Barnes, Aussie ‘band of the moment’ Sheppard, international Grammy Award winning rock band The Mavericks, US sensation Blackjack Billy, rock gods Spiderbait, and Deni Ute Muster favourites Troy Cassar-Daley and Adam Harvey.
The 2014 Deni Ute Muster is on Friday 3 and Saturday 4 October at the Muster Site, Conargo Rd, Deniliquin NSW.
The Deni Ute Muster is proudly supported by the NSW Government through its tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW.
