Telstra is getting a hand from IVECO as it rolls out the high-speed broadband network with eight brand new walk-in mobile retail shop and demonstration centre, mounted on the long wheelbase Iveco Daily cab chassis.
The Daily 5017C units are powered by the 3.0 litre, four–cylinder diesel engine with turbocharger, intercooler and common rail fuel injection. Maximum power is 176 hp with peak torque rated at 400 Nm.
The initial eight units are being built in Queensland and a unit will be dispatched to each state and territory around Australia. Telstra has plans to increase the fleet of mobile shops across the country. Future units may move upmarket in the spec’charts with the additional options from IVECO of rear air suspension, driver and passenger suspension seats, upgraded entertainment centre, and a fridge. All-wheel-drive is also available for remote area operation.
