Before even being launched onto the Australian market, Fiat’s Doblo has claimed the Fleet Van of the Year accolade at the 2014 Motor Transport Awards, at a gala ceremony in London’s Grosvenor House on Park Lane.
Recognised as the road haulage industry’s most respected honours, the Motor Transport Awards celebrate innovation, outstanding service, efficiency and quality among the best businesses and products in the industry. Even to be shortlisted is an honour, as it shows that very highest standards, as judged by an independent panel of leading industry experts, have been achieved.
Launched in 2010, it has proved a big hit with small businesses, owner operators, local authorities and municipal services, as well as a growing number of larger fleets looking to cut costs without sacrificing versatility and practicality. Named International Van of the Year winner in 2011, the Doblò Cargo is available in a broad range of body styles and engines, provides impressive towing and load-carrying capacity and some of the lowest total life costs in the market, thanks in no small part to its low fuel consumption and long service intervals. With attractive purchase prices to appeal to all budgets and an expansive dealer network to cater to all repair, service and aftersales needs, the Fiat Doblò Cargo offers, in the view of the Motor Transport Award judges, a simply unbeatable package to fleet managers.
Justin Stanton, Operations Director at Motor Transport, said, “The FIAT Doblò Cargo has an obvious appeal to fleet operators: its towing capabilities are highly regarded, it has an assured ride and high comfort levels and it also sports a stylish and modern interior. The most striking element of the cab is just how much space there is – the cabin feels huge for such a small van. It has proved a big hit in the UK since its launch but recently it has also found its way into a wider range of fleets as more businesses come to appreciate not only its attributes but the manner in which the Fiat Professional brand is developing.”
The Motor Transport Award is the latest for FIAT Professional in the UK which, in the past year, has claimed wins from numerous influential UK publications including VansA2Z, Trade Van Driver, Fleet Van World, GreenFleet, Fleet Van and What Van?
The Fiat Doblo is due for release into the Australian market in the final quarter of this year
