DELIVERY MAGAZINE puts the Mercedes-Benz X-Class Ute through its paces in Chile | Transport News

Santiago, Chile: Delivery Magazine drove the new X-Class ute from Mercedes-Benz, six months  ahead of its  introduction to the Australian market scheduled for April of next year. The unique drive programme follows Delivery’s involvement in the development of the new ute that over the past year has resulted in meeting with  the various engineers of the German carmaker as they outlined the advantages and design features.

With three diesel engines on offer,a seven-speed auto or six-speed manual and a refinement that matches the high standards of the premium car maker, the X-Class is tipped to be an absolute winner. Better handling, lower noise levels and higher safety features than any current ute on the market sets the X-Class well above the  competition.
Disc brakes all round, a wider track and a wider body with more interior space are just some of the features that distinguish the X-Clasas from the Nissan Navara that forms the original base from which the  X-Class has been developed. With payloads of up to 1100kg and a towing capacity of 3.5 tonnes, this will be a game changer and a strong threat to the dominance of Ford’s Ranger and the Toyota HiLux.
